Accept Ozow payments on your VirtueMart store. VirtueMart is a shopping cart extension for Joomla, the Ozow module is compatible with Joomla 4.x and 5.x running VirtueMart 4.

Older versions

Modules for older versions of VirtueMart are available on request. Contact support@ozow.com or your account manager if you need a module for an older VirtueMart version.

Before you start

  • You need an active Ozow merchant account. If you don't have one, sign up at ozow.com/merchants.
  • You need a working Joomla 4.x or 5.x installation with VirtueMart 4 installed and active.
  • Ozow only accepts payments in South African RandZAR The ISO 4217 code for the South African rand, and the currency every amount on this site is in unless a page says otherwise. Amounts are decimal rand rather than cents, so 100.00 is one hundred rand. (ZAR). Make sure your store currency is set to ZAR.
  • You will need admin access to your Joomla installation.

Installation

Step 1: Install the module

  1. Download the plugin using the link above
  2. Extract the zip file
  3. Locate the vmpayment.zip file inside the extracted folder
  4. Log in to your Joomla admin panel
  5. Navigate to Extensions → Extension Manager
  6. Select the vmpayment.zip file and click Install

Step 2, Activate the module

  1. In the Extension Manager, click Manage
  2. Search for "Ozow"
  3. Activate the Ozow module

Step 3, Configure the module

  1. Using the Joomla main menu, navigate to Components → VirtueMart
  2. In the VirtueMart menu, navigate to Shop → Payment Methods
  3. Find the Ozow plugin and open the Configuration tab
  4. Enter your merchant credentials, your site codeSite code The unique code for a site registered under a merchant. A site is a place to transact: a website, or a branch of a store. A merchant can have several, and each transaction names the one it belongs to, so sending the wrong code files the payment against the wrong place., private key, and API key are available in your Ozow Dashboard
  5. If you want to test your integration first, set Sandbox to Yes: set it to No before going live
  6. Click Save
