Accept Ozow payments on your WooCommerce store. Ozow provides a standard payment gateway plugin for WooCommerce, as well as additional payment-specific plugins for Capitec PayCapitec Pay Capitec's own payment method. The payer gives a cellphone, account or ID number rather than card details, and approves the payment in the Capitec app, so no card number and no banking login is ever entered at checkout. It gets its own button rather than sitting inside the bank list, and it requires Customer Identity Verification.Capitec, Voucher, and Buy Now Pay Later (Happy Pay).

Before you start

  • You need an active Ozow merchant account. If you don't have one, sign up at ozow.com/merchants.
  • You need a working WordPress installation with WooCommerce installed and active.
  • Requires WordPress 6.6 or later and PHP 7.4 or later.
  • Ozow only accepts payments in South African RandZAR The ISO 4217 code for the South African rand, and the currency every amount on this site is in unless a page says otherwise. Amounts are decimal rand rather than cents, so 100.00 is one hundred rand. (ZAR). Make sure your WooCommerce store currency is set to ZAR. The plugin will automatically disable itself if it detects an unsupported currency.

Ozow Gateway for WooCommerce

The standard Ozow gateway enables your customers to pay using any Ozow-supported payment method at checkout.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin using the link above
  2. In your WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Upload the plugin zip file and click Install Now
  4. Once installed, click Activate Plugin
  5. Configure the plugin:
    • In the left menu, hover over WooCommerce and click Settings
    • Click the Payments tab
    • Click Ozow Secure Payments
    • Enter your merchant credentials, your API key, private key, and site codeSite code The unique code for a site registered under a merchant. A site is a place to transact: a website, or a branch of a store. A merchant can have several, and each transaction names the one it belongs to, so sending the wrong code files the payment against the wrong place. are available in your Ozow Dashboard
    • Configure the title and description that will be displayed to customers at checkout
    • Click Save changes

Payment-specific plugins

In addition to the standard gateway, Ozow provides dedicated plugins for specific payment methods. These can be installed alongside the standard gateway to offer additional payment options at checkout.

Capitec Pay via Ozow

Enables Capitec Pay as a standalone payment method at checkout.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin using the link above
  2. In your WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Upload the plugin zip file and click Install Now
  4. Once installed, click Activate Plugin
  5. Configure the plugin:
    • Hover over WooCommerce and click Settings
    • Click the Payments tab
    • Click Capitec Pay via Ozow Gateway
    • Enter your merchant credentials and configure the checkout display settings
    • Click Save changes

Voucher via Ozow

Enables Cash Voucher redemption as a standalone payment method at checkout.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin using the link above
  2. In your WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Upload the plugin zip file and click Install Now
  4. Once installed, click Activate Plugin
  5. Configure the plugin:
    • Hover over WooCommerce and click Settings
    • Click the Payments tab
    • Click WC Voucher Redemption via Ozow Gateway
    • Enter your merchant credentials and configure the checkout display settings
    • Click Save changes

Buy Now Pay Later: Happy Pay via Ozow

Enables Buy Now Pay Later (Happy Pay) as a standalone payment method at checkout. Customers selecting Happy Pay are securely redirected to the Ozow-hosted checkout to complete their purchase.

The Happy Pay plugin requires the Happy Pay widget to be displayed on your product pages. See the Buy Now Pay Later product page for widget implementation guidance.

Installation

  1. Download the plugin using the link above
  2. In your WordPress admin panel, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin
  3. Upload the plugin zip file and click Install Now
  4. Once installed, click Activate Plugin
  5. Configure the plugin:
    • Hover over WooCommerce and click Settings
    • Click the Payments tab
    • Click Ozow Happy Pay Secure Payments
    • Enter your merchant credentials and configure the checkout display settings
    • Click Save changes
