Investec is one of the banks supported under Pay by BankPay by Bank The payer authorises the payment inside their own banking app or online banking, and the funds move from their bank account. No card is involved and no card details are entered.. Customers who bank with Investec can pay directly from their bank account by signing in on Ozow's secure payment page and approving the payment in their banking app.
It's enabled by default when you integrate with Ozow, so your customers can use it without any additional setup.

How your customer pays
- Your customer selects Pay by Bank at checkout, then Investec.
- They enter their internet banking username or email and password.
- They agree to securely share their online banking login details and accept Ozow's terms and conditions, then tap Login.
- They select the Investec account they want to pay from and tap Pay.
- They open the Investec app and approve the request.
- They come back to the Ozow page, which shows a success screen, and tap Return to merchant to go back to your site.

Enabling Investec
Investec is enabled by default as part of Pay by Bank. If you're integrated for payinsPayin A payment made by a consumer to a merchant. The direction most of this site is about: money coming in. Testing
We recommend testing with small live payments in production. Production payments settle back to you as normal, so it's safe to test this way. If you need staging credentials, contact Ozow support or your account manager.
Refunds, settlement and reconciliation
- Refunds: you can refund an Investec payment. That's your decision, not something the customer can force through their bank. See Refunds.
- Settlement: payments are settled once a day: 15:00 on weekdays and 08:00 on Saturdays. No settlement occurs on Sundays or public holidays. See Settlements.
- Ozow Portal: transactions and statuses update in real time on the Ozow Portal.
Things to know
Your customer needs internet banking. They sign in with the same username and password they use for Investec internet banking, so internet banking must be set up on their account.
Your customer chooses the account before approving. After signing in, they select which Investec account to pay from on the Ozow page, then approve in their banking app.
Your customer must return to the payment window. After approving in their banking app, the customer comes back to the Ozow page to complete the payment.
Ozow Fast. Returning customers can opt in to Ozow Fast on the sign-in screen for quicker logins next time. Ozow securely stores certain login details. The banking password is never stored, so customers always enter it. Ozow Fast isn't available in every case.
Payments are irrevocable. Once confirmed, the funds are yours. There's no chargebackChargeback A completed card payment reversed by the customer's bank after a successful dispute. The funds come back out, and the process runs between the banks rather than through Ozow, so it is not something you can approve or refuse. Your transaction records and delivery confirmations are what it is decided on. process.
