Payouts as simple as that...

Ozow Payouts allows customers to request withdrawals from merchants. Thanks to Real-Time Clearing (RTC), those withdrawals clear in minutes. At the same time, payouts automation removes the manual payout process and associated staff and admin costs, allowing merchants to payout to unlimited recipients 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with one click of a button. All of this comes in a single, easy to integrate API.

Payout process

Account verification

We provide CDV checks, a preliminary check on account validity. The combination of six-digit bank branch number and the bank account number are validated to ensure that they satisfy the check digit rules that each bank has. This does not check if the account itself is valid or active.

Payouts and reflection

We offer RTC (real-time clearing) and Standard transfers. RTC is available from 00:01-18:00 on weekdays, and 00:01-13:30 on Saturdays. All transactions outside of these times will be processed the next business day.

RTC is limited to R5 million per payout on weekdays, and R250 000 on weekends. It can take up to 24 hours for merchants to receive confirmation of payout, even though the funds may have already reached the customer.

Testing

Merchants must test the required scenarios using the Mock API and Actual API in staging. With Actual APIs in staging, merchants can only test Non-RTC payouts. These must be submitted before 4pm (CAT) so that they can be batch processed and completed at 9am the next day.
